Gas prices fall in Virginia, rise nationally, remain unchanged locally

Virginia gas prices have fallen 0.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.93/g today, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 4,081 stations in Virginia. Gas prices in Virginia are 16.1 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand $1.11/g higher than a year ago.

According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Virginia is priced at $2.56/g today while the most expensive is $3.55/g, a difference of 99.0 cents per gallon. The lowest price in the state today is $2.56/g while the highest is $3.55/g, a difference of 99.0 cents per gallon.

Locally, the cheapest reported gas price is $2.79, unchanged from last week, and can be found at Kroger on Commonwealth Blvd., Liberty Street Market, CITGO on Liberty Street, Sun Peak Fuels on Memorial Blvd., Marathon & Circle K on Virginia Avenue, BG’s Express on Old Chatham Rd., and Valero on Kings Mountain Road.

The national average price of gasoline has risen 0.6 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $3.04/g today. The national average is up 8.4 cents per gallon from a month ago and stands $1.02/g higher than a year ago.
