The bond hearing for 21 year-old Jamel Turner of Collinsville, one of three men arrested in relation to the deadly shooting that occurred at the El Norteno Restaurant in February, has been continued while he awaits assignment of a public defender.
Turner appeared before Martinsville General District Court Judge Joan Ziglar by video conference for his arraignment Monday morning.
A third alleged shooter has been charged in connection with a shootout at the El Norteno restaurant in Martinsville in February. Jamel Turner, 21, is charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Malicious Wounding, Use of a firearm in committing a felony and shooting in a public place resulting in injury.
Turner has been identified as an alleged shooter who was also hit by gunfire during the incident.
Jamal Jenkins, 24 of Collinsville, and Rosario Eggleston, 20, of Martinsville, are also charged in connection with two shooting deaths.
Virginia State Police say Keilo Anton Martin, 23, and Shavon Lamont Reid, 33, both of Martinsville, were shot and killed inside the restaurant bar area the night of February 5.
